MELINDA McKEE

Melinda is a dreamer, traveler, and competitor.

I grew up raised by a Mr. Fix It father, Graphic Designer mother, and Bada$$ entrepreneur older sister, all of which shaped who I am today. I also credit a large part of my success in this life to the sport of volleyball. It led me to my husband, access to see the world, my best friends, my support systems, and an unbelievably talented network of creatives, CEOs, businesses, etc. run and organized by other amazing volleyball players. It taught me teamwork, communication, leadership, confidence, and healthy competition, without which I wouldn't be running a business or educating our youths!

I have visited 21 countries and take as much inspiration from the amazing world around me as possible. Some of my favorite countries were...

Italy for the food (with a maiden name DiGiovanna, how could it not be),

Croatia for the beaches, and Switzerland for the mountains!

I've been painting large scale since I was in high school designing massive posters on my parents dining room floor for class night competitions that would be hung to fill the gym walls. I have a sneaking suspicion this is what led me to become the muralist and art teacher of 10 years I am today. Currently, my favorite part of the week is after school with my Mural Club, teaching the future muralists of the world all the methods and how to pull an edge!

ALLIE AHEARNE

Allie is a person who loves to create any chance she gets. She is a new art teacher who likes to listen to those around her and try to create and bring things to life with her art. Allie likes to travel, meet new people, and hang with her dogs. She is someone whose life was changed by the sport of volleyball, where she met Melinda. Through the sport, she has made a life journey that has lead her to the works of these beautiful murals, thus far.

Volleyball has steered her into the person she has become with being an educator who can't wait to impact those around her. Allie still likes to coach and keep volleyball in her life as a tribute to how much the sport has given her and would like to pay that forward to the people she continues to meet through it. Allie can't wait to keep creating for the people who bring their ideas forward and seeing their reactions to their imaginations on bigger surfaces.
